AGSU Belt Regulation: What It Is and How to Assemble It

The Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) has become the new standard in the United States Army, replacing the traditional blue Army Service Uniform (ASU). One essential component of the AGSU is the belt, which not only serves a functional purpose but also adds to the overall appearance of the uniform. In this article, we will explore the regulations surrounding the AGSU belt and provide a step-by-step guide on how to assemble it correctly.

One of the key elements of the AGSU belt is the proper placement of the nameplate. As shown in the image above, the nameplate should be centered horizontally between the wearer's right and left edges of the belt, aligned with the bottom edge of the belt buckle. This placement ensures a professional and polished look.

How to assemble AGSU belt

The AGSU belt assembly process is relatively straightforward. Follow the steps below to ensure that your belt is correctly assembled:

  1. Step 1: Thread the Belt Through Belt Loops

    2. Begin by inserting the belt through the belt loops on the trousers or skirt. Make sure the belt is not twisted and is evenly threaded through each loop.

  2. Step 2: Attach the Belt Buckle

    3. Once the belt is threaded through all the loops, slide the belt buckle onto the right end of the belt. The buckle should be inserted from the right side and secured by threading the left end of the belt through the buckle tongue.

  3. Step 3: Adjust the Belt

    4. Ensure that the belt is adjusted to the appropriate length for a comfortable fit. The belt should be snug but not excessively tight. Allow for enough room to tuck in the shirt or blouse.
